Training resuming after summer break

Its September again and training has started, after the August break, with the same standard class times (details here on the CLASS TIMES page) so see you all back and do feel free to come along and try a class if you’ve never attended before.

Todays grading

Grading today went very well. Not many took part but those who did all passed with a range of grades from white belts up to brown belts.

The advanced (1st Kue) brown belts were preparing for their black belt grading (Shodan) that will take place later this year - I’m not sure how well they got on.. (especially as one of them broke a certain Sensai’s finger earlier this week…)

It’s June and Aragane Sensei is back taking classes. No word yet on upcoming grading dates but I’m guessing a July date is a possibility - more will be posted here when available. As always the class times page details when classes are held at the Glenview hotel so feel free to come along.

Hi all, I received this flyer from Liam Murphy of DCU Karate club (Irish Shotokan Institute) with details of the one day training course with Mawaseo Kawasoe Sensei (8th Dan) which is taking place on St. Patrick’s college, Drumcondra road, Dublin 9 this coming Sunday (21/Feb/2010). The next grading is taking place on SATURDAY THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY 2010 at 11AM. 2010 classes began last week (12th January 2010) with Aragane Sensei instructing and attendance has been quite high. Current class times are as per the CLASS TIMES page.

It was announced on Thursday that Aragane Sensei will be back and taking classes from December 2009 through to Feburary 2010. Everyone has been asked to try to make it look like we’ve practised and learnt something since he was last with us. And no mention of any possible grading dates yet but it’ll be here if/when known…

August break

As in previous years there will be NO classes during August. This means the last class will be this Thursday (the 30th of July 2009). Classes will resume in September (Tuesday the 1st of September 2009). Until then enjoy the holidays and don’t get too lazy.
